Athletics Update September 2017

Fall Sports

All fall sports began on September 5^th. Our golf team will compete in their first tournament on Thursday, September 6^th. Our first home volleyball game is on Tuesday, September 19^th against Winship. And our cross country team will be hosting the season opener, the Arcata Marsh Run on Thursday, September 21^st. Come out and support our JCS athletes.

BAY LEAGUE PASSES can be purchased in the office and at home games– $30.00

Girls’ Basketball Sports Night

There is a mandatory meeting on September 27th, at 6:30 pm in the gym for parents of students who are interested in participating in girls’ basketball, 5^th-8^th grade.  If you are unable to attend, please send a representative for your child. This is the night for parents to find out about the sport and to sign up to help in some way.

**5^th grade basketball is not a part of the Bay League. Volunteer parent coach(es) are required. Practice location and games TBD.

In order to participate in try-outs, practices and to compete, athletes are required to have the following forms on file:

1. PRE-PARTICIPATION PHYSICAL EVALUATION (PHYSICALS ARE VALID FOR ONE YEAR FROM THE DOCUMENTED DATE OF EXAM)
2. ATHLETIC CONTRACT
3. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND ASSUMPTION OF POTENTIAL RISK
